Children of Blosxom
May 16, 2006.     Douglas Nerad

I found this excellent list of Blosxom derivatives. It's a great list from a great site. For convenience I'm repeating their list below.

blosxom starter kit
blosxom starter kit version barijaona
ModBlosxom
Posy
blojsom (as Seth Milliken points out in the comments, blojsom has switched to a database structure, so it might not count now)
mod_blosxom
Phposxom
Blosxom.PHP
PHPBlosxom
PyBlosxom
lily
7blosxom
10122038
umekomiblog

I wonder what kind of blosxom is being used for this site?

This Site Uses...
Straight Blosxom Version Two. It's the one most recently released from the Sourceforge project, and is run in purely dynamic mode. Which reminds me that I should throw together the Colophon someday before the end of the universe...

It's B-L-O-J-S-O-M
In looking things through I belive you've gotten the "j-for-an-x" mixup. The version of Blosxom that runs as a Java webapp is "blojsom". Yeah, I had problems finding it too until I swapped the letters.

Ah... Whoops!
Thanks for the spelling correction; it should show up correctly now!

blojsom no longer in lineage
As of blojsom 3.0, it now requires a database. This seems to be a rather critical departure from the core principles of blosxom.
